Getting to Switzerland:

The closest international airport is Zurich (ZRH).

There is an hourly, direct train that runs from Zurich airport to Lucerne, which takes about an hour (e.g., an Interregio train, departing at 1.47 PM and arriving at 2.49 PM). The train also stops at Zurich main station.

Getting to the conference venue:

Our conference venue Floralpina is located in Vitznau, which is on the shores of Lake Lucerne. The shortest and nicest way to get there is by boat from Lucerne. Thus, we would like to start the conference with a a boat trip over one of the most beautiful lakes in Switzerland.

The meeting point is on June 19, at 3 PM in Lucerne at the “Bahnhofsquai“ (the pier just in front of the train station). We meet in front of the “World Café.”

The ferry ride to Vitznau will take about an hour. You do not need to book the boat ride ahead of time, we will buy group tickets.
If you will be unable to meet us in Lucerne at this time, please let us know in advance, so we do not wait for you at the pier.

Departure (Friday, June 22):

The boat back to Lucerne runs hourly, leaving Vitznau 49 minutes past the full hour. We plan to take the boat at 12:49pm, arriving in Lucerne at 13:47pm. There are at least two trains per hour running back to Zurich airport.
